UCPR amendments commence today

The Uniform Rule Committee has approved the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules (Amendment No 43) 2011. The object of these Rules is to clarify that a person may apply for an order for assessed costs in the Supreme Court where the total amount of the unpaid costs that are included in more than one cost assessorâs certificate filed together under rule 36.10 (1) and (2) of the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules 2005� exceed $150,000. These Rules were published **today, 15 April 2011 **on the NSW legislation website and have commenced operation.
