The Future of Private International Law in Australia

Globalisation has broadened opportunities for Australians to travel and for businesses to trade and engage in cross-border ventures. One result is a growth in the number of disputes before Australian courts which have a cross-border element, whether relating to the parties or the subject matter. Members are invited to a seminar on the future of private international law in Australia, to be held on **Monday, 16 May 2011 at 6.00pm-7.30pm **at Sydney Law School (Camperdown Campus). The four speakers - the Hon Justice Paul Le Gay Brereton AM RFD, Dr Andrew Bell SC, Thomas John and Professor Andrew Dickinson - will address the topic from the different perspectives of judge, legislator, practitioner and academic.
