NSW Government to simplify corporate fault laws

The New South Wales Government has introduced the Miscellaneous Acts Amendment (Directors' Liability) Bill 2011 in the Legislative Assembly. The object of this bill, as provided by the explanatory note, is to amend certain Acts that impose directors’ liability so as to: change the type of directors’ liability that is imposed for certain offences from accessorial liability to deemed liability, and change the type of directors’ liability from deemed liability to accessorial liability, and remove the imposition of directors’ liability in respect of certain offences.
