Attorney-General introduces amendments to the Acts Interpretation Act 1901

The Commonwealth Attorney-General, the Hon Robert McClelland MP, today introduced the Acts Interpretation Amendment Bill 2011 into Federal Parliament. The amendments arise out of a comprehensive review of the Principal Act, and are aimed at updating its language and concepts in order to make it easier for people to understand and interpret Commonwealth legislation.
