Tom Bathurst sworn in as 17th chief justice of NSW and made life member of Bar Association

Tom Bathurst QC was this morning sworn in as the 17th chief justice of New South Wales at a ceremonial sitting of the Supreme Court. Attorney General Greg Smith SC spoke on behalf of the bar. Last week, Bar Council, at a meeting on 26 May, resolved that his Honour be appointed a life member of the New South Wales Bar Association for his exceptional service to the association and to the profession of the law over many years.
