Vic Bar Council releases submission to the Charter of Rights review

The Victorian Bar has published its submission to the Scrutiny of Acts and Regulations Committee (SARC) review of the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities. Bar Council Chairman Mark Moshinsky SC said: "The experience of counsel is that the Charter has resulted in a positive change in the conduct of public authorities ... The ability to seek legal redress for breaches of human rights by public authorities is an important component of a legal system which takes human rights seriously".
