New NSW Barristers Rules to take effect on 8 August 2011

Following extensive public and professional consultation, the Council of the New South Wales Bar Association has approved the introduction of new New South Wales Barristersâ Rules to reflect the uniform national rules of conduct prepared by the Australian Bar Association, the peak representative body for all Australian barristers. This is another step in the process towards a uniform national system of practice for both barristers and solicitor. The new Rules will take effect on 8 August 2011.
