21/12/2011

The AIJA, in association with the National Judicial College of Australia, is organising a seminar on the discovery process in civil litigation. The issues to be discussed are those identified by the Australian Law Reform Commission's report Managing Discovery: Discovery of Documents in Federal Courts. They will include the impact of technology, the role of courts in the management of discovery and the quest for balance between the costs and time required for discovery and the complexity of the matters in dispute. The seminar will be a facilitated discussion and will be open to any practitioner with an interest in the discovery process and views on ways to improve it. The program and registration for the seminar are available at the AIJA website aija.org.au
