The Bar Council held an all-day meeting in the Common Room on Saturday, 4 February. Topics discussed included services for members, the Bar Association’s role in public debate on issues affecting the administration of justice, diversity at the bar, governance and practice development. The question of possible changes to the senior counsel selection protocol was referred to a future meeting of the Bar Council. A number of other issues require further consideration by the Bar Council. Members will be advised of developments either through the usual publication of the Bar Council minutes or by a special note from the president. 7 February 2012
