NSW Bar FC is supporting the Nangala Project headed by John Moriaty, a former Adelaide Juventus (Adelaide United) and South Australian striker who was the first Indigenous football player to be selected for Australia. John is also Patron of Football Federation Australiaâs Indigenous Football Development Program.
The program intends to launch in March 2012. Whilst the project has support from both the Australian and Northern Territory governments (together with football luminaries such as Craig Foster), there is a difference between support and funding. The immediate shortfall is approximately $5,000 for the purchase of necessary training equipment (ie balls, ladders, agility poles etc.). However once basic equipment is made available, more funding will be required to ensure the success of the program.
Many have contributed but we are well short of the amount required to fund the purchase of the necessary training equipment.
If you can assist, kindly send a cheque payable to Nangala Project Ltd to David Stanton at DX 1070 Sydney by 2 March 2012. Donations are tax deductible and Stanton will secure a receipt for this purpose.
For more about the Nangala Project see www.nangalaproject.org.au or www.jumbana.com.au âor contact David Stanton on 8233 0345 (d.stanton@mauricebyers.com).
