BOCSAR study of the Local Court Process Reforms

The New South Wales Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research has released the findings of a two-year evaluation of the Cri_minal Procedure Amendment (Local Court Process Reforms) Act (2007), _which�changed the requirement for the police to produce�a ‘full brief’ of evidence before a plea was entered. Concerns on the part of legal practitioners that defence counsel would be required to seek more adjournments or take longer to conduct the case, appear to be unfounded.
