Barristers desperately seeking bail
16/04/2012

Philip Strickland SC, Ertunc Ozen andSarah Bradleywill spend the nightof** Friday, 11 May **in a Sydney juvenile detention centre. With generous support from members of the bench and bar, they have raised more than $5,000for Whitelion, an organisation working with Juvenile Justice to secure opportunities for young people involved in the youth justice system.
This is a unique opportunity to step into the shoes of a young person that has been disconnected from our community due to abuse and neglect, drug addiction and poverty. They must âraiseâ bail to secure their âreleaseâ.Their bail is set at $3,000.They will be stripped of possessions, fingerprinted, photographed and subjected to interrogation. They will also appear before a magistrate in a mock court proceeding before being sentenced tocell time.Attorney General Greg Smith will be pardoningtheir release the next day.
Check out their inmate profile page. To post bail, they click on the BAIL ME OUT icon. All funds go to Whitelion (a non-for-profit charity).
