PC renewal update No.3 of 2012: problems encountered

A number of renewals have been received which have not been completed correctly causing extra work for staff in contacting the barristers’ concerned to rectify the problems before they can be processed.� Please note the following when completing your renewal documentation:

1. The renewal application form must be signed by the applicant barrister – the Association cannot accept applications signed by a third party e.g. clerks (clause 11(1) Legal Profession Regulation 2005).� Please ensure to date the declaration when signing.
2. Please answer all questions on the form.
3. The barrister’s residential address and telephone number must be provided (clause 11(1)(a) Legal Profession Regulation 2005).� It must be the physical address, a PO Box number is not acceptable.� This information is not given out to third parties.
