PILCH’s fifth annual Walk for Justice in Sydney is an early morning meander along the harbour foreshore leaving from Hyde Park, which takes place on National Pro Bono day and marks the beginning of Law Week across Australia. This year’s Law Week theme of ‘Law and Justice in your community’ is particularly appropriate. �

This year’s Walk for Justice will take place on Tuesday 15 May 2012 from 7.30 am. The Walk for Justice is a reminder of the need of many marginalised and disadvantaged people for pro bono legal services and is a valuable fundraiser for PILCH.� Since the first walk in 2008, the event has grown from a small fun walk to a nation-wide event.� While we walk� for justice in a scenic loop through Sydney’s green belt, PILCH Victoria, QPILCH and JusticeNet (SA) will be leading simultaneous walks through the CBD of Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Townsville and Newcastle. PILCH is hopeful of a strong turn out from its members, partners and supporters, their friends, families, colleagues and communities.� This year we are walking through Hyde Park, behind St Marys Cathedral, down through Woolloomooloo, up through Mrs Macquarie’s Chair and finishing up in the Domain (at the back of the Sydney Hospital) with a picnic breakfast.� We are keeping our fingers crossed for a bright autumn morning!�� The Walk brings together a broad range of solicitors, barristers, government lawyers, academics, students and in-house legal departments, members of the judiciary, community organisations and other individuals and groups interested in access to justice.
