ABA Appellate Advocacy Course

Course Coordinator, Chris Shanahan SC, is pleased to introduce and welcome you to the inaugural Appellate Advocacy Course, Excellence in Appellate Advocacy, to be held in Sydney between 5 and 7 October 2012, at the Federal Court of Australia.

This is a non-residential three-day course that will develop your skills as an experienced appellate advocate. The course focuses on the skills required to seek leave to appeal, engage effectively with the bench, and craft comprehensive yet concise written submissions. The course will start by exploring the essence of appellate advocacy, followed by a detailed examination of each of the elements involved in an appeal.
