Judges, barristers and clerks are warmly invited to the 2012 Common Law Drinks to be held on Friday, 24 August at MoS Caf, corner of Phillip and Bridge Streets. It was on 26 August 1928 that Mrs May Donoghue drank ginger beer from a tumbler which, it was claimed, contained the remains of a decomposed snail. To mark the occasion of the 84th anniversary of this momentous event in the history of the common law, His Honour Judge A Garling will be the guest of honour and speak on the night. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Common Law Bar to farewell Judge Garling upon his retirement from the District Court. Donât miss this fabulous opportunity to relax and share stories in a pleasant and convivial atmosphere. Tickets cost $80 per person or barristers who are under 5 years call, $65. The event is kindly sponsored by Bar Cover. Download your RSVP form today. RSVP by Wednesday, 22 August 2012. 14August2012
