Seeking your help to scan the first 100 volumes of the CLRs (ADVERTISEMENT)

BarNet would like your help to complete a quality public digital archive of the first 100 volumes of the Commonwealth Law Reports. We have just reached the half-way point with the 51st volume submitted for scanning. Lawyers, particularly members of the independent bars from around Australia have been asked to support the project. More information is available at http://www.openlaw.org.au. The completed project output will also be donated to the High Court of Australia, the National Library of Australia and Court libraries, to ensure access and permanence. The project has the support of the Copyright Agency (CAL): all authors and copyright owners of headnotes in the first 100 volumes will be recognised and, if content is still in copyright, owners will be remunerated. A proportion of receipts is paid over for this purpose.

Substantial completion will be marked by an event at the High Court in Canberra on 10 September 2012 to present the output and celebrate the history of law reporting. Members of the judiciary, the legal profession, sponsors, and the public will be invited.
