NSWLRC report on criminal responsibility of people with cognitive and mental health impairments

The NSW Law Reform Commission has released Report 138:_ People with Cognitive and Mental Health Impairments in the Criminal Justice System_. It makes 59 recommendations, among them being to adopt a new verdict of "not criminally responsible by reason of mental health or cognitive impairment", based on an updated version of the test for people currently found “not guilty by reason of mental illness”.
