Advocacy

The Bar Association is a participant in today's CTP Roundtable, which will be broadcast live via video link at 10.15am. In preparation for the event, the Bar Association has prepared seven briefing papers, which summarise for the public and the media exactly what is at stake in the government's proposed 'reforms'. The papers are as follows: CTP changes: Why strip benefits from victims to compensate drivers who cause accidents? What does 'No Fault'really mean under the new scheme? CTP reform and the 10% WPI fallacy Workers compensation style benefits are not a proper fit for compensating those injured in motor accidents CTP scheme performance - the reality CTP reforms - will premiums really go down? CTP reform: legal assistance outlawed, insurers win, the injured lose 24 July 2013
