Invitation to join a Law Council Section

The Law Council of Australia represents the legal profession at the national level. It speaks on behalf of its constituent bodies and specialist sections and committees, and is a trusted voice on national legal issues. The Law Council promotes the administration of justice, access to justice, and the general improvement of the law.

Sections of the Law Council

Members of the legal profession are invited to join one of the five specialist sections of the Law Council: - Business Law; - Family Law; - Federal Litigation and Dispute Resolution; - International Law; and - Legal Practice. The Law Council Sections administer a range of activities including the preparation of expert submissions, professional development events and networking opportunities. Section membership is open to lawyers who have an interest in these specialist areas. Membership of the Law Council Sections provides lawyers with a wide range of benefits, and opportunities to contribute to the work of the legal profession on a national level.
