The Law Council of Australia has written to the Commonwealth DPP to express concerns about changes to its fee structure, under which barristers appearing in trials will not receive payment whilst the jury deliberates, unless there are exceptional circumstances or counsel is required to appear in court during the deliberations.

The LCA, through the Bar Association, will keep members informed of progress in negotiations with the CDPP.
