Justice Margaret Beazley AO appointed as governor

Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced that the Hon Justice Margaret Beazley AO will be the next governor of NSW. Her Honour’s appointment will commence in May of this year. Justice Beazley came to the New South Wales Bar in 1975 and was appointed senior counsel in 1989. She was first appointed to the bench in 1993 and since that time has had a distinguished judicial career as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia and the NSW Court of Appeal, and more recently as president of the Court of Appeal. Justice Beazley has made an outstanding contribution as an advocate, jurist, academic and role model and the New South Wales Bar Association congratulates her on her well-deserved appointment.
