Vulnerable witness advocacy training

Continuing Professional Development
On Saturday 12 October the Bar Association became the first independent state Bar to run a training program to foster a greater understanding of the fundamental principles behind the approach to, and questioning of, vulnerable people. Twenty-six members participated in the training provided by the Australian Advocacy Institute.
The program is designed to improve the quality of evidence available in court, minimise harm for vulnerable people, and ensure procedural fairness for all parties involved in the trial process. The Bar Association wishes to thank all who attended, as well as the AAI staff and trainers.
