The Bar Association's website features a recently-revised Direct Access Factsheet, which offers an overview of the rules and regulations applicable to direct access briefs, including fees in advance, as well as practical tips on avoiding positions of conflict and anticipating problems. Members are also encouraged to view Dominic Toomey SC’s online CPD seminar titled “Direct Access Briefs - Avoiding the Pitfalls 2017” and the accompanying paper.
