WLA releases Leading Practice Guide 2019-20

Diversity
WLANSW today released its 7th Law Firm Comparison report showing that promotion of women to partnership is slowly improving but is erratic. The number of law firms with 30-40 per cent female partners increased but so has the number of firms where women comprise less than 20 per cent of partners. The leadership of law firms (CEOs, Chairpersons and directorship level) remains male dominated and has a lower representation of women when compared to other industries. A miniscule number of male partners work part time or take paid parental leave, even where there is a paid entitlement to do so. WLANSW calls on law firms to examine their culture and structures and has released a Leading Practice Guide that sets out practical measures that can be adopted and implemented.
