Nominations now open for the Terry Keaney and Bondie Awards

The Terry Keaney Award Committee is calling for nominations for the Terry Keaney Award and a new award: The Bondie Award.

The Bondie Award is in honour of the late Greg Bond – an extraordinary ALS solicitor renowned for his commitment to justice for his clients.

The criteria for the Bondie Award are:

  1. Humility and/or quietness in achievement;

  2. High level competence as a criminal defence lawyer;

  3. Exceptional commitment to clients (such as advocating for clients who may be charged with less serious/repeat offending but who deserve the best representation); and

  4. Commitment to social justice.

The criteria for the Terry Keaney Award are:

  1. Dedication to the profession;

  2. Excellence as a criminal defence lawyer;

  3. Commitment to clients; and

  4. Concern for social justice.

Nominations may be made at the links below and must be submitted by 5pm on 5 May 2025.
