Not Yet Received Your Practising Certificate for 2025/2026

If the Bar Association has received a valid application to renew your practising certificate but will not be able to determine it before 1 July 2025, you will receive a letter from the Bar Association with advice to that effect this afternoon.
If the Bar Association has not received a valid application to renew your practising certificate by 11.59pm on Monday, 30 June 2025 you will not be able to engage in legal practice on and after 1 July 2025. You will receive a letter with that advice on the morning of Tuesday, 1 July 2025 if no application has been received from you.
Please note that a valid application requires the online application renewal form to have been completed and submitted, as well as payment of the applicable practising certificate fee having been received by the Bar Association.
Engaging in legal practice, including undertaking chamber work, without a practising certificate is an offence against s 10 of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW) and carries a maximum penalty of a fine of $27,500 or imprisonment for 2 years, or both.
