Wanted: adjudicators for UTS Senior Witness Examination Competition
03/03/2015
The UTS Law Students’ Society is currently seeking barristers to adjudicate its Senior Witness Examination Competition, also known as Mock Trial, in the coming months. This competition is a simulated criminal trial that requires competitors (acting as either the prosecution or the defence) to examine witnesses in accordance with their case theory on a given criminal charge and factual scenario.
As a judge, you will be required to assess each of the two competitors on the quality and accuracy of their opening statements, examination-in-chief, cross-examination and closing statements. Each round runs for 60 minutes, followed by approximately 10 minutes of feedback for competitors. It is recommended that you set aside 1.5 hours in total to allow a buffer zone.
This upcoming semester’s Senior Witness Examination Competition will run on Mondays on the dates listed below, with rounds commencing between 9:00am – 7:30pm:
- Preliminary Round: 16 March
