National Mediator Accreditation Standards

The National Mediator Accreditation Standards have been revised effective from 1 July 2015. See the revised standards and the covering letter from the Mediator Standards Board. Barristers seeking accreditation or renewal this year should read the revised standards closely.
Barristers seeking renewal of their accreditation in October 2015 should note the revised requirements for renewal in section 3. This includes an increase in CPD hours required over 2 years from 20 to 25 hours. However mediators are now ble to include up to 10 CPD hours related to the professional field in which they mediate and up to 5 hours of private study releant to mediation.
The revised approval requirements for accreditation are set out in section 2. Barristers seeking accreditation as experienced qualified mediators should note the new alternative paths to accreditation in section 2.5.
