Domestic violence information sharing
07/05/2015
The NSW Department of Justice is running professional workshops that aim to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to share information under Part 13A of the Crimes (Domestic and Personal Violence) Act 2007 and the Information Sharing Protocol. The first workshop takes place today in Parramatta, but others are scheduled for Bankstown, Tweed Heads and Broken Hill.
Part 13A creates exceptions to NSW privacy laws to allow information sharing between certain service providers for the purpose of facilitating domestic violence victims’ access to support services and to prevent or reduce serious threats to the life, health or safety of any person as a result of domestic violence.
