Bar FC victorious against Corrs Chambers Westgarth

01/06/2015

In a match where the scoreline did not reflect their dominance, Bar FC defeated Corrs 2–1. Played under grey skies at the Domain, Bar FC dominated from the opening whistle, with di Michael and Munro keeping the Corrs defenders under constant pressure with their strength and pace.

The midfield four of Lang, Clark, d’Arville and Harford Davis controlled the midfield and keep feeding the strikers with precision passing. Bar FC went up 1-0 early, with a well taken goal by Munro. The Corrs goalkeeper and the goal posts kept Corrs in the game in the first half. A scrappy goal against the run of play let Corrs back into the game. However, Bar FC quickly re-established its lead with a goal by di Michael.

The second half was a more even contest, with the defence of Vickers, Gyles and Fordham, holding firm. Late in the second half Jackson had a golden opportunity to make the game safe for Bar FC, but his chance at glory sailed high over the cross bar.

At great team effort by all and a well deserved win. The team consisted of the following players:
