Asian Australian Lawyers Association: Sydney branch
16/06/2015
Following the recent release of its research on the level of Asian Australian diversity in the legal profession, the Asian Australian Lawyers Association (AALA) has announced plans to establish a Sydney branch later this year. The AALA seeks to promote Asian cultural diversity in the Australian legal profession, provide advocacy and support to its members and develop links with Asian legal associations. The AALA has members from more than 15 ethnic backgrounds, who between them speak more than 20 Asian languages, and is open to all lawyers from an Asian Australian background or who have an interest in Asia. The AALA is currently looking for a small group of volunteers to assist with the launch of the Sydney branch. For more information, see the AALA's website.
