LCA calls for boost to justice reinvestment

It's NAIDOC Week, and the president of the Law Council of Australia says now is an ideal time for federal, state and territory governments to consider expanding justice reinvestment initiatives. Justice reinvestment refers to the diversion of funds, which would ordinarily be spent on keeping individuals in prison, into the development of programs and services that aim to address the underlying causes of crime in communities that have high levels of incarceration.
