Bar FC held to a draw by Announcer FC

22/07/2015

Bar FC’s run to be minor premiers in the Domain Soccer League hit a speed hump today when it came up against determined opposition. Whilst Bar FC had the best of the first half and a numerical advantage, a reshuffle at half time resulted in Announcer FC having the better of the second half. Lo Surdo SC was heard to say at the full time whistle: "it was a game of two halves"....wise words indeed.

A big crowd gathered to cheer on Bar FC and see Patchildhino (aka David Patch) lead the line and chase the Golden Boot Award. Alas, the crowd and manager were disappointed to hear a routine mention at Parramatta had become a chapter from War and Peace. As the starting whistle blew, there was no Patchildhino and as a result, Bar FC never quite found its groove.

A special mention must go to Geoff O’Shea who was clearly the managers choice for player of the match. Some silky ball skills that would put a smile on Ronaldo’s face were rewarded with two excellent chances on goal.

Today’s team was as follows:

  • Jonathan Clark
  • Geoff O’Shea
  • Faraz Maghami
  • Sebastian Hartford Davis
  • Ben Phillips
  • Darren Covell
  • Ivan Griscti
  • David Larish
  • John Harris (GK)
  • Matt Vickers
  • Justin Hogan Doran
  • Bilal Rauf
  • Anais d’Arville

Next weeks game is on Wednesday, 29 July 2015 at 1.15 pm on top of the Domain Car Park. Please come to see the team in action.
