On Friday, 7 August the Bar Association issued a media release expressing concern about a protocol on police carrying guns inside the court. The president's remarks and those contained in another release responding to comments by the prime minister, which appeared in InBrief on Friday, were quoted by a number of media outlets, including the Sydney Morning Herald and shared widely on Twitter.
