Swearing-in ceremony for Brigitte Markovic

Brigitte Markovic will be sworn-in as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia on 24 August 2015 at 9.30am in Court 1, Level 21, Queens Square. Arthur Moses SC will speak on behalf of the New South Wales and Australian bar associations. Barristers should wear robes but not wigs. Furthermore, members are advised that the existing practice whereby members of the bar stand during speeches given on behalf of the New South Wales Bar at judicial swearing-in and retirement ceremonies continues to be appropriate in federal as well as state courts.
