International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on 8 March. It is a day to celebrate the achievements of women and girls and to build support for women’s rights and their full participation in the economy, politics, community and in everyday life.

This year’s theme is ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress’. The United Nations has identified that a key challenge to achieving gender equality and women’s wellbeing is ‘the alarming $360 billion annual deficit in gender-equality measures by 2030’.
