Bar FC is back

16/05/2024

Bar FC’s undefeated start to the season continued today with a decisive 5-0 victory against the Agricultural Bank of China. It is Bar FC’s best result in recent memory. The win extends the undefeated streak to two games. It is Bar FC’s longest streak in recent memory.

Rejuvenated from the rain enforced break, Bar FC imposed early pressure. A series of corner kicks followed from which Morrison opened the scoring with a headed goal. Soon the lead was doubled, thanks to a well taken strike from Cook on the edge of the area.

At the back, chances were kept to a minimum thanks to Bar FC defensive stalwarts Larish, Woods and Munro, ably supported by Rogers, Ionita and Griscti. In midfield, the central trio of Coutinho, Canceri (the younger one) and Cook exerted their influence. Coutinho floated in another corner kick, and Morrison timed his arrival at the far post to perfection to give Bar FC a 3 nil half time lead.

The opening stages of the second half saw Bar FC surrender initiative but Captain Philips, deputising in goal, was rarely troubled. Normal service quickly resumed and the combination of Patch, Rizk and Sivanathan saw the chances flowing. Morrison soon secured his hattrick, his first in a lifetime of playing, and proof that lifelong dreams can be realised at the Bar. Late in the game Hartford Davis found space outside the box and struck the fifth goal (via the post) to seal a life affirming victory under clear blue skies.
