Conditions Attached to Your Practising Certificate

Certification has received a number of enquiries regarding conditions attached to barristers practising certificates.

The format of the practising certificate has not changed from previous years. All the standard conditions are set out in full on the second page of the electronic certificate. The conditions which apply to your certificate are listed on the bottom of the first page.

Barristers at the private Bar are generally subject to Conditions 1, 2, 3 and 4. Government barristers are generally subject to conditions 6, 3 and 5. Readers have additional conditions (Condition 8) which are available here.
