Revise your practice areas on Find a Barrister

06/05/2014

The Bar Association has revised the way it classifies the areas of practice listed on “Find a Barrister”. The new categories and sub-categories will more accurately reflect the nature of barristers’ practices. Members can nominate up to seven principal areas of practice, and an unlimited number of sub-categories under each primary area. The new system will provide more specific guidance for solicitors and others who use the facility to find those barristers most appropriate to their particular circumstances. Old practice areas to cease on 30 April The old Find a Barrister facility will cease to operate on 30 April. The introduction of a new system for classifying areas of practice means that the ones currently listed on your Find a Barrister record will need to be replaced.
