Funding for Asia-Pacific pro bono extended

04/07/2014

Wednesday's InBrief published a request by the Law Council’s Centre for Asia-Pacific Pro Bono (CAPPB) to provide advice to the Kingdom of Tonga. We are pleased to announce that the centre received many offers of assistance. Just as pleasing is the news that funding for the CAPPB has been extended for one year by the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department.

The Centre for Asia-Pacific Pro Bono has facilitated more than 18 projects since its launch in July 2012, generating more than $1 million worth of pro bono work for organisations in the Asia-Pacific region. Projects have included legislative drafting assistance, legal advice on human rights and other matters, capacity-building and professional development. Learn more about the CAPPB here.
