Bar FC suffers only its second loss of the DSL season
18/07/2014

Notwithstanding Patchildinho’s new found love of possession football and all things Brazilian, Bar FC found itself down at half time 3-0 today against Announcer FC, a younger, fitter and faster outfit.
Quick instructions at the break from David (Sir Alex Ferguson) Stanton and a reshuffle up front (after Patchildinho’s early exit for a conference) saw Bar FC put in a gritty second half performance, pull back a goal and hold Announcer FC scoreless for the second term to finish 3-1 down.
Special mention to Nick Newton and Nicole Compton who followed Sir Alex’s instructions to challenge in the midfield and win the ball. The back line consisting of Gyles SC, Simon Philips, Covell, Fordham SC and O’Shea also worked hard against a fast paced attack.
No points today but ultimately a good day out.
Notwithstanding the loss, Bar FC is still 2 points clear of its nearest rival, Announcer FC, at the top of the leader board.
Bar FC’s next match is against Reserve Bank C on Friday, 25 July 2014 at 1.15 pm.
