Bar childcare scheme features in Lawyers Weekly

The Bar Association's childcare scheme for members has featured in this week's edition of Lawyers Weekly.

In an interview for the story, President Jane Needham SC said: “Reliable childcare is one of the problems that people often cite as a difficulty in coming back to the bar.” Lawyers Weekly cited the results of the recent survey of members by the New South Wales Bar Association, which found that 86 per cent of respondents felt access to childcare was a problem for the profession and 65 per cent said priority of access to a childcare centre in Sydney’s CBD would affect their ability to continue or improve their career at the bar.
