The results of the Not The NSW Bar Association World Cup Tipping Competition are now to hand and David Chin was the winner. Mark Paul and Janet McDonald took second and third place respectively.

The competition was organised by Ingmar Taylor SC and Mark Gibian, and involved each participant nominating a charity of their choice. David chose HopeStreet, which received over $1000 from the competition. HopeStreet is a non-profit organisation based in Woolloomooloo which has a number of projects to assist marginalised inner-city residents many of whom are homeless,

A CPD seminar was recently held on the Law Kitchen, an initiative set up by two of our members, Les Einstein and the late Geoffrey Pulsford, which provides a free legal service for homeless persons at HopeStreet’s café in Woolloomooloo. A tour was organised by the Law Kitchen for lawyers interested in volunteering to be on the Law Kitchen roster each Wednesday. The expanded Law Kitchen team will commence duty this Wednesday, 6 August during Homeless Persons’ Week (4 to 10 August).

HopeStreet and the Law Kitchen are very grateful to David and the organisers of the competition for the generous donation which will be used to fund community projects.
