Bleak statistics on imprisonment of Indigenous women

The Human Rights Law Centre has warned that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are being imprisoned at an increasing rate and now constitute one of the more incarcerated groups in the world. Their comments follow last week's release by the Australian Bureau of Statistics of data showing an 18 per cent rise in the number of Indigenous females in custody. Learn more here.
