Ethical Decision Making by Barristers

The panel consisting of Katherine Richardson SC (Chair), Hayley Bennett and Nicholas Bentley will work through a real case scenario that resulted in a finding a barrister had engaged in professional misconduct. Hayley Bennett (a legal and health professional discipline barrister and former neuropsychologist with an ongoing interest in the neurobiology of ethical decision making) will guide viewers through the scenario and ask Nicholas and Katherine to share their views at key decision making points in the scenario. The CPD will elucidate debate on how barristers can approach ethical decision making by comparing the views of Nicholas (who will share a junior’s perspective) and Kate (a leading NSW silk who regularly acts for both the prosecution and defendants in disciplinary proceedings of barristers and solicitors and health professionals).

This is a must watch practical ethics CPD for a members of the NSW Bar (readers through to Senior Counsel). The CPD will count as 1 Ethics and Professional Responsibility point.
