Government changes to super and SMSF’s, ASX market update, insurance, estate planning and financial planning strategies

Wednesday, 11 March 2020

The Government intends to legislate that the objective of the superannuation system is “to provide income in retirement to substitute or supplement the Age Pension”. They have introduced

  •  1.6m cap on how much can be in pension mode and relevant penalties
  •  Concessional contributions cap reduced
  •  Non-concessional contributions cap reduced

This seminar will cover those changes, along with the required update to all SMSF trust deeds, which both need to be completed pre lodging the FY17 tax returns to avoid penalties from the ATO. This seminar will also cover an update of important changes in the financial markets, insurance sector, estate planning and general financial planning strategies.

Charles Stewart has 15 years of experience in the financial markets, and holds a Law and Finance degree and a diploma of financial planning. He specialises in SMSF investment advice, while also ensuring his clients are across their insurance, estate planning and financial planning requirements. Charles will present on the changes to super and information on insurance, estate planning and financial planning strategies.

Martin Crabb is the Chief Investment Officer for Shaw and Partners with 30+ years of experience across financial markets as an executive director at the Macquarie Group and now at Shaw.

This seminar is held in conjunction with Shaw and Partners.
