Safeguarding Human Rights in International Extradition
International extradition processes are often little understood. They can have significant consequences for the liberty of extradites and, for that reason, are assumed to disregard extradites’ rights. This CPD will provide an overview of Australia’s international extradition processes and safeguards for extradites, including through extradition objections and treaty obligations.
This seminar is organised by the Human Rights Committee and will be presented by his Honour Justice Michael Wigney of the Federal Court of Australia and Trent Glover of 11th Floor St James’ Hall. Miiko Kumar, Deputy Senior Crown Prosecutor will chair the seminar.
This CPD will be run by registration only. Numbers are limited. Please send any questions to cpd@nswbar.asn.au.
