The Craft of Advocacy in Mediation
This session is sponsored by the ADR Committee. It involves a panel discussion involving leading mediators, exploring the art and craft of successful advocacy in mediation.
There is a significant role for barristers in mediation, and under-utilised scope for barristers to refine and adapt their advocacy skills for optimal effect in a mediation setting.
This session will examine why effective advocacy is critical for successful mediation, but why and how traditional styles of barrister advocacy must adapt in the mediation setting.
There will be an exploration of what advocacy strategies and techniques are effective (and ineffective) in promoting settlement, and securing an optimal outcome for your client.
Chaired by Hugh Stowe followed by speakers Robert Angyal SC, Max Kimber SC and Peter Jacobson SC.
