The importance of promoting speaking roles in court for junior barristers and how this can be achieved by addressing unconscious bias
The Bar Association’s Diversity and Equality Committee is pleased to invite you to attend a CPD seminar on promoting speaking roles for junior counsel.
Our guest speakers, Justice McGrath and Kate Morgan SC, will discuss a number of topics including the importance of developing and promoting the advocacy skills of diverse members of the junior Bar, how opportunities to take on speaking roles as a junior barrister assist in developing as an advocate, and how unconscious bias can impact upon junior barristers being given oral advocacy opportunities and strategies to address this.
Attendees will be invited to remain in the Common Room following the seminar for light refreshments and networking.
